Classification of Fasteners(Ⅰ)

Fasteners are a general term for a type of mechanical parts used to firmly connect two or more parts (or components) into a whole, and are also called standard parts in the market. Fasteners usually include 12 types of parts, and today we will introduce 4 of them: bolts, studs, screws, nuts, and a new type of fastening tool – integrated nails.

 (1) Bolt: A type of fastener consisting of a head and a shank (a cylinder with external threads). Bolts must be used in conjunction with nuts to fasten two parts with through holes together. This type of connection is called a bolt connection. If the nut is unscrewed from the bolt, the two parts can be separated, making the bolt connection a detachable connection.

 (2) Stud: A fastener without a head and with external threads at both ends. When connecting, one end needs to be screwed into a part with an internal thread hole, and the other end needs to be passed through a part with a through hole, and then a nut is screwed on to fasten the two parts together. This type of connection is called a stud connection, which is also a detachable connection. It is mainly used in situations where one of the connected parts is thicker, a compact structure is required, or frequent disassembly makes bolt connection unsuitable.

 (3) Screw: Screws are also composed of a head and a rod. According to their use, they can be divided into three categories: structural screws, set screws, and special-purpose screws. Machine screws are mainly used to fasten parts with fixed threaded holes and parts with through holes, without the use of nuts (this type of connection is called a screw connection, which is also a detachable connection; it can also be used in conjunction with nuts to fasten two parts with through holes). Set screws are mainly used to fix the relative position between two parts. Special-purpose screws, such as eye screws, are used to hoist parts.

 (4) Nut: A fastener with a threaded hole inside, usually in the shape of a flat hexagonal prism, but can also be in the shape of a flat quadrangular prism or a flat cylinder. Nuts are used in conjunction with bolts, studs or structural screws to fasten two parts together to form a whole.

Ceiling integrated nails are a direct fastening technology that uses a special nail gun to shoot nails. The powder inside the integrated nails burns to release energy, and various angle brackets can be driven directly into steel, concrete, masonry and other substrates to permanently or temporarily fix the parts that need to be fixed to the substrate.
